Before you arrive

The government of Jamaica requires every visitor to complete an entry form at enterjamaica.gov.jm before arrival.

Is there kosher food in Jamaica?

Absolutely. Chabad of Jamaica runs the Kosher Hot Spot, a walk-in spot on the Hip Strip in Montego Bay for falafel, fish & chips, smoothies and ice cream. We also offer kosher takeout and catering, with meat, chicken and dairy menus. Please order in advance.

Can I buy kosher food at the supermarket?

Yes, many kosher-certified products are on local shelves. See our Supermarket Guide for what to look for. There are no Cholov Yisroel or Pas Yisroel products on the island.

My resort is all-inclusive. Can I eat kosher there?

Sometimes. A few resorts will arrange kosher meals with advance notice. See Kosher at the Resorts for how it works.

How can I join for Shabbat?

Join us for Shabbat dinner at the Chabad House: traditional Shabbat dishes with Caribbean flavors, kosher wine and plenty of singing. Please reserve your place in advance.

The Chabad House is at 35 Springfarm Drive, Montego Bay, in a gated community. Security clearance is required, so once your reservation is confirmed we will ask for the full names of everyone in your party.

Is there a minyan?

It depends on how many visitors are on the island. See our Minyan page, and please reach out before you come.

Where should I stay?

See Hotels Near Chabad for hotels within walking distance of the Chabad House and the Kosher Hot Spot. For private villas, including kashering your villa kitchen, see Villas Information.

Is there a mikvah?

Yes, the Rose Doweck Mikvah. Book your appointment online. All the items you need are provided.

Can we have a Jewish wedding or event in Jamaica?

Yes. Chabad of Jamaica can cater and host your Jewish wedding or destination event, with views of the Caribbean Sea. Send us an inquiry to get started.

Are there Jewish tours?
